Parramatta, 195 Church St, Parramatta NSW 2150, Australia

About the event

The stories in the public buildings and sites across Parramatta, the second British settlement established in mainland Australia, are essential to our history. Explore the St John's Anglican Cathedral and Parramatta Town Hall and and discover the 19th century lifestyle at Hambledon Cottage and Elizabeth Farm.

Plus, enjoy a hearty pub lunch at the Albion Hotel, an 1860s pub revamped for the 21st century.

The fully-escorted day tour includes:

  • the sandstone, twin-towered St John’s Anglican Cathedral, a Parramatta landmark for over 200 years
  • the refurbished town hall, designed in 'Victorian Free Classical’ style by Mansfield Brothers in the 1880s
  • Hambledon Cottage, built for John Macarthur in 1824 as part of his Elizabeth Farm estate, originally to provide additional accommodation for extended family and friends when they came to visit.
  • Clay Cliff Creek, a vital source of the food and living resources for the Burramattagal clan
  • Elizabeth Farm, essential to the establishment of the colony and the agricultural and economic success of NSW and, eventually, the nation.

Don't miss this fascinating look into old Parramatta.
